Paske -All you need to know

Pakse is a town, the provincial capital of Champasack province in lower Laos and the district capital of Pakse district. Pakse has a population of 87,000, located at the confluence of the Xedone and Mekong rivers. It is the provincial capital of Champasack province and the gateway to the Bolovens Plateau. Pakse is a quiet town where life runs along the banks of the Mekong River. Along with a favorable geographical position, Pakse is also an attractive tourist and economic destination of the Land of Million Elephant. This place was formerly the capital of King Champasak Bounum, the last king of the Lao feudal system which was abolished in 1946.

Although more than half a century has passed, anecdotes about the harsh reign of this Southern Lao king are still circulated among the people, especially the lavish life with many concubines and beauties that the king captured from villages. After the fall of the dynasty and being discovered by the French this place also has architecture heavily influenced by French colonialism, as was the nearby city of Savannakhet

When should you to visit?

Located in the south of Laos, Paske possesses a typical climate of the subtropical monsoon region with 2 main seasons: the rainy season and the dry season.

+ In the dry season, the climate is quite hot and humid because the Lao winds bring stuffy air and especially Laos does not receive any cold air from the sea.

+ In the rainy season in Pakse, the weather is cooler with sudden rains, so prepare the necessary items in the rainy season.

Transportation:

There are many ways to get to Paske, including by air and by road. Airfreight can fly through Paske International Airport. For moving in the city, you should rent a motorbike to be proactive in the time and place to visit. But if you want to save time, you should also try the experience with a Tuk Tuk.

Tad Fane Waterfall:
