Laos’s government officially announced a totally open the all international border after 2 years of the pandemic, allowing vaccinated travelers enter to the country without any testing requirements.

The government spokesperson and deputy, Thipphakone Chathvongsa, told a press conference in Vientiane on 7th May 2022 that as the COVID case dramatically decreased and aim for economic recovery, the Lao government had coordinated with a number of sectors to determine new entry measures.
The entire international border including the land border and airport will be opened for entry and exit by citizens and foreign residents. Citizens come from the countries and territories that have bilateral or unilateral visa waiver agreements with Laos now able to enter Laos without visa

Citizens of other countries may now apply for a visa at Laos’s embassy or consulate abroad or E-visa online system. Visa on arrivals will also be reinstated at certain international checkpoints.
Fully vaccinated travelers can enter Laos without any testing requirement when arriving by land, air, or water.
Non-vaccinated travelers or Lao citizens, foreign citizens aged 12 years and over must take a Rapid Antigen Test within 48 hours in advance of entering Laos

A foreign traveler who arrives in Laos that comes infected with COVID 19 must take responsibility for all medical costs involved in the treatment
